Patrick Holford is the founder of The Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) which offers several degrees in nutrition as well as nutrition consultation through their clinics. He is the author of over 20 health books, the most popular one is “patrick holford’s new optimum nutrition bible“. Many of us don’t know how our body discharge toxins, and don’t know that liver is the factory that regulates almost everything in and out the body, and it is very important to give it some rest to restart his function of detoxification in full power.
We heard a lot about the detoxification diets and techniques, perhaps the most famous is the 1 month detox using colon cleansers. This is a new and different approach to liver detox for a healthier body within 9-days without any colon cleansers, just food and vitamins !
What i like about this book is the easy description of the role of liver in our bodies and why it is important to detox in order to restore his function, also the link between the common symptoms we feel everyday ( fatigue, lethargy, low energy, headache, mood swings, bloating and cravings) and the liver detox. The book is in two parts, 1st part is describing the importance of detox, the 9-day model, the 5 habits to break and the 5 habits to make during these 9 days and for life long if you can ! The 2nd part is setting the detox plan day by day with a complete menus for the daily dishes and snacks even juices and smoothies.
I would recommend this book for everyone who looks to regain his energy level, and want to understand how his body deal with toxins in a simple way and without these complicated medical terms !
